Then moisture is very important for natural black hair, our hair tends to be very dry so you have to add moisture. Make your own leave in conditioners, say like shea butter whipped with coconut oil and apply that. It works very well on our hair. Another product that is great to have is water/vegetable glycerin mix and a few drops of an essential oil and sprtiz that on the hair with a spraybottle, it makes the hair very soft and defines your curls. Another thing, never comb your hair when dry as that causes severe damage to our type of hair. Find out what hair type you have because it helps you with care and the right products for your hair. The hair types could be 3c, 4a, 4b, or 4c if you are black these types are common. Also, try sites like naturallcurly, blackhairmedia forum (natural hair) and Youtube if you ever have questions. This is where I learned all of the things I know now as I transition from relaxed to natural hair myself

Look up Dominican hair products like Silicon Mix etc, they are quite popular among natural/curly ladies. Lastly stay away from heat. Rollerset it instead for different styles or when you want to get it straight without heat.
